Typically, we will meet once/week.  Based on presenting concerns, diagnosis, treatment plan, availability, and/or resources, we may decide to meet more or less frequently such as 2-3 times/week, every other week, or once a month.  Similarly, the duration of treatment is tailored to meet your needs which may include several weeks, months, or years. 

Yes.  Therapy is most effective when you practice the insights and skills learned in between scheduled sessions.  Assignments and activities are tailored according to therapy goals.  

No, we do not prescribe medication because we are not medical doctors.  Only a psychiatrist, primary care physician, or nurse practitioner can prescribe medication for mental health disorders.  We can provide referrals, if we believe an assessment for medication is warranted.

A board-certified psychologist is recognized by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) for demonstrated competence in a specific area of practice.  This achievement is based on additional education, training, and experience following a terminal degree and state licensure.  Approximately 4% of all licensed psychologists in the United States are also board certified.

Organizational consulting is a rapidly growing area for psychologists with a clinical background.  Based on our assessment, group intervention, and community outreach skills, we can assist individuals, groups and organizations with communication skills, cohesion building, and program development.  All proposed interventions will nurture effective relationship building and will be designed to align with your organization’s values and objectives.
