Dr. Nicole L. Fischer is a Licensed Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia and Board Certified in Counseling Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology.  With 10+ years of experience working in university mental health and administration, she has demonstrated expertise in individual and group therapy, clinical supervision, community outreach, and project management.  Additionally, she has held adjunct faculty appointments at several colleges and universities, and is a published researcher and consultant in multicultural psychology.  

Dr. Fischer has been in private practice since 2014, alongside her position as Assistant Director of Outreach at the University of Virginia Department of Student Health and Wellness.  She has provided organizational consulting for rural communities, small businesses, and local non-profits.

  • PhD and MS degrees in Counseling Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA
  • BA degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA
  • One-year internship in Health Service Psychology at the University of Virginia Department of Student Health and Wellness, Charlottesville, VA
  • One-year clinical-research fellowship in Health Service Psychology at Emory University School of Medicine and Grady Medical Center, Atlanta, GA
